In the spirit of The Decameron, we curate monthly themes to lend structure to the broad realm of fiction. Participants may choose to follow that theme, or to write untamed by our recommendation, confident in the knowledge that, not only will all stories appear in our catalog, but that the very best in any category will win acknowledgement, praise, or prize. 

     There’s an ages old adage, “laughter is the best medicine,” and in celebration of National Humor Month, The Decameron Project’s April theme is humor! Aside from the clinical benefits of laughter, humor enables readers to view various issues and experiences through fresh lenses and to appreciate the joy in our lives. From classic slapstick humor, to satirical reflections on societal mores, to funny personal anecdotes, writers are invited to submit pieces that will bring a sense of levity and amusement to The Decameron Community.  Write away!
