Midnite Cruiser

It’s locked and I can’t even find the keys

I could break the glass? stitches would ensue

With that thought, I no longer feel at ease

Things are now so different without you

With my hands and knees, I crawl through life’s feats

Spotted! Against brilliant fluorescent light

contrasting against the stone grey concrete

They jingle like a rattle in the night

I sip what remains of an old iced tea

The radio blares a Steely Dan song

The drink is now lukewarm and watery

The tune caught my ear so I sing along

The caliginous streets are peculiar

I head to a home now unfamiliar
