Outside My Window

Outside my window is a town that isn’t small but it certainly feels that way. The majority of it is houses that surround the downtown area. There are many different shops, restaurants, a cool city hall, and a train station. Almost all of the people here are nice and care about each other which is something that I really like about it.

I have lived here for most of my life and I have many memories here. Most of them are downtown with my friends, like getting snow cones on a hot summer day. There was also a time when we spent all day playing a big game of hide and seek. We had water balloon fights at my friend’s house in the summer and snowball fights at the park in the winter. The last important place is the nearby woods and the creek that runs through it. It was there for the normal times when we would explore it for hours and catch the snakes and turtles that live there. But it was also there for some of our toughest times, when we didn’t have anything to say and all that we could do was skip stones hoping to splash everything away.

In the end, it may not sound like much but this town is mine. Whenever I leave, even if it’s just for a few days I always get a warm feeling and sense of familiarity when I come home. Even if I end up living somewhere else years from now I think that I will always get that feeling when I’m here.
