Our Team

Lucas Gimbel

Founder

Lucas Gimbel is a student at Yale University. He previously attended Manhattan’s Collegiate School where he wrote avidly for the Collegiate Journal, and participated in the school’s Symbol’s Task Force –– a committee charged with examining how symbols from the school’s nearly four hundred year history fit with its current mission and values. He regularly volunteers at the Lenox Hill Neighborhood House. In the future, Lucas hopes to study the humanities –– with an eye to history and literature. His favorite novel is Lampedusa’s The Leopard, and he is reading Robert Caro’s Master of the Senate.

Freddie Coffey

Founder

Freddie Coffey is a student at Harvard University studying Applied Mathematics and minoring in philosophy. He was born in the UK, and attended Eton College on an Oppidan scholarship until he emigrated in 2018. He then attended The Collegiate School in Manhattan, where he served as Editor-in-Chief for Prufrock, the school’s literary magazine. His favorite book is Dostoevsky’s The Brothers Karamazov.

Alexandre Farman-Farma

Founder

Alexandre Farman-Farma is a Freshman at Stanford University where he is studying Economics with an intended co-term in Statistics. He attended Eton College, where he won an Oppidan Scholarship in his second year. There, he was regularly involved with the Middle Eastern Society, and volunteered in several outreach programs with local schools. His favorite book is Bruce Chatwin’s What Am I Doing Here, a collection of travel writings.

Teddy Nuttall

Director

Teddy Nuttall is a junior at Manhattan’s Collegiate School. There, he plays an active role in the literary community – with duties spanning from writing for Collegiate’s Journal to organizing and publishing the school’s history compendium, the 1628. He also volunteers as an intern for the Association to Benefit Children, a community based organization striving to ensure every child a joyful, healthy, and safe life through compassionate and innovative programs. In the future, he hopes to further his studies of the humanities, focusing in on history and literature. His favorite book is Kurt Vonnegut’s Cats Cradle.

Charlotte Stevens

Digital Content Manager

Charlotte Stevens is a senior at Stowe High School in Stowe, Vermont. She is a member of student government and a tutor for elementary students working virtually. During her free time, Charlotte enjoys skiing and is on her school’s alpine team. She has been learning Chinese since the 6th grade and hopes to continue her studies in the future. Charlotte’s favorite book is Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None.

Kenisha Mahajan

Curator

Kenisha Mahajan is a rising junior at Stuyvesant High School. At Stuyvesant, she is an editor for The Spectator and a member of the Speech and Debate Team. Outside of school, Kenisha participates in several service projects and works avidly with YVoteNY and Next Generation Politics, an organization that works to spark civic discourse among youth, educate young people on social justice issues, and increase youth voter turnout. Her favorite books are Hemingway’s The Sun Also Rises and The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri.

Nicolás Parra

Curator

Nicolás Parra is currently a senior at Pine Crest School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Nicolás is a player on the varsity football and soccer teams for his school. He is part of his school’s orchestra and chorus and an active member of the Latin X club. Nicolás has also created a soccer camp in Ecuador, called Ecuafut, where he hosts a free soccer camp for the younger, less privileged kids in Ecuador, giving them soccer balls and cleats after the camp. Nicolás is an active writer for the Pine Crest school yearbook, newspaper, and part of the talented writers program, which is a rigorous class discussing and creating all types of literature. Nicolás’ favorite book is To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee.

Ward Cammack

Ward Cammack is a native of Nashville, Tennessee. She attends the University of St Andrews in Scotland where she studies History, English, and French. She previously attended Episcopal High School, a boarding school in Alexandria, Virginia, where she was a member of the Honor Committee and a Head Tutor of the Writing Center, where she reviewed and edited student’s writing assignments alongside other responsibilities. Her favorite novel is The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald.

Zahra Rock

Zahra Rock is a Senior at the Spence School in New York City, where she is an active member of the African-American and Latina Alliance and the Film Club. In her free time, she enjoys competitive horseback riding and learning about social justice causes. She is an intern for the Angel Rock Project and has spent many years with them giving back in Johannesburg, South Africa. In the future, she hopes to study business and acting, but also hopes to take classes that help foster her love of literary analysis. Her favorite books are The Color of Water by James Mcbride, and The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas.

Sawyer Cooper

Sawyer Cooper attends Harvard University, where he is considering a double concentration in Biology/Neuroscience on a Pre-med track, along with film. He attended the Bronx High School of Science, where he captained the Varsity Cross Country and Track and Field teams. He plays piano outside of school and has studied at the Mannes School for Music for 5 years. Sawyer is an avid creative writer and hopes to incorporate this passion into his future studies. His favorite book is A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier by Ishmael Beah.

Angelina Zaphyria

Angelina Zaphyria attends the Fashion Institute of Technology, where she is studying Advertising and Marketing Communications. On her own time, she is a paid writer for the online magazine Adolescent Content and has also published work on “Killer and A Sweet Thang.” Angelina has studied vocal performance, and she eventually intends to pursue a career in creative direction. Her favorite book is Valley of the Dolls by Jacqueline Susann. She is currently making her way through a plethora of screenplays, as she teaches herself to write for the screen.
