On February 26th at 5pm, we hosted Jason Reynolds, best-selling author of the Ghost and Stamped: Racism, Antiracism and You. As the National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature at the Library of Congress, Jason is no stranger to bringing literature to life. Tune in for a luminary conversation –– about writing for justice, the change that lives in our words, and unleashing the power of the “crazy stories” we all have to tell.
Jason Reynolds began his career at the University of Maryland, where he earned a BA in English before moving to Brooklyn. A self-proclaimed hater of boring books, Jason has dedicated himself to telling all the “crazy stories.” He is the author of bestselling novels Ghost, All American Boys, Long Way Down, and Stamped, which he wrote with Ibram X Kendi, among others. And he recently wrote Miles Morales: Spiderman for Marvel. Jason has won the NAACP Image Award, been a finalist for the National Book Award twice, and won the Coretta Scott King Award three times, among other honors. He is now the National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature at the Library of Congress.

Competition: ‘Outside My Window’
We invite all young authors, 13-19, to compete in our upcoming competition with The New School’s Write On, under the theme ‘Outside My Window.’ The winner will have their story read aloud by Jason Reynolds himself, and three storytellers will be selected to receive cash prizes, courtesy of The New School.
