About the Event

We recently hosted Angie Thomas, the groundbreaking author of The Hate U Give and On the Come Up. Our Zoom conversation with Angie took us in many directions –– but we discussed The Hate U Give, the Black Lives Matter Movement, and on the activist power of literature. We heard Angie’s take on the current unrest, and her thoughts on moving forward. And most importantly, Angie shared her advice for young authors –– and how they can change the world with their writing.
