Another Rainy Day

“Look it’s starting to rain!”
The class would hustle to the door.
The room would smell like petrichor.
The teacher would stand up and exclaim,
“No, go to the window frame!”
Kneeling on the floor, the rain started to pour!
The excitement was as if they were on a world tour,
It was so special when the rain came,
sitting there side by side could never feel lame…

Now it was another day on zoom,
when you hear raindrops starting to tap…
You glance up at the windows’ now drenched
glass.
“Not again,” you think with gloom, in the
darkness of your
room.
The sky is crying, but so are you, tears and
tears fall upon your
lap.
All you now wanted was the day to pass…
