Albert Einstein once said “If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales.
If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales.”
Well, I think that’s complete bullshit.
Fairy tales teach kids that every story has a happy ending:
Little Red Riding Hood and grandmother both live,
Cinderella marries prince Charming,
and Ariel gets her voice back and marries Prince Eric.
But in reality, the wolf eats the grandma and little red,
Cinderella’s stepsister marries Prince Charming,
and Prince Eric marries a human girl.
Not all stories end in a happily ever after
It’s a dark and scary world
Filled with rapists, murderers, racists, homophobes and sexists
but little by little it’s getting brighter
people are standing up for women, people of color, and people apart of the LGBTQ+ community
murderers and rapist are getting thrown in jail and justice is being served
and maybe someday all of our stories will end in those six magical words
“and they lived happily ever after”
